'When Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you? When did we ever see you sick or in prision, and visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me!'
Matthew 25:37 - 40 |

One of our members came up with the idea of saving all of our pocket change to donate to the local soup kitchen -- thereby feeding the hungry with the 'common cents' most of us toss on our dresser or in our car ashtray. You might think that a little loose change won't help much -- but you would be wrong. In just a few years, our small congregation has collected and donated thousands of dollars. Every little bit makes a difference in the lives of the needy. |
| Each one of our members has a coffee can that they deposit their loose pocket change in each day, and 4 times a year we collect up all the cans, count and roll the coins, and donate it to the St Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. |
| We encourage every person to start their own 'Common Cents' program in their local church, workplace, business, bowling league, service organization, or any other group that would like to help the less fortunate. We would be glad to assist you in any way to start your own program |
